Fifth of July

July 5, 2008

Like my friends, I too worked the Fourth of July and had to shoot parades and fireworks. I made the most out of it, and Emily Spence and I produced a rockin’ multimedia piece. Click here, you wont be disappointed. I had a crazy deadline. There was a concert at 9 (which really started at 9:25 p.m.) and the fireworks were scheduled for 10:05 p.m.

I shot the 20 minutes of fireworks, and sneaked back into the donors tent to transmit my work (I had all ready used the private tent to transmit my concert photos). I am happy with my Fourth stuff. I was surprised with what I came up with. An hour is not very long when you’re shooting stills and video, getting caption information, writing captions, editing and turning it.

I tried to find as much variety as possible. I wanted to think of what I had not seen before, and to turn away from all the stereotypical advice. “You’ll just have to decide yourself and see you like blah blah blah).

It’s almost 4 a.m. and I’m tired. I hung out with Emily, Alex and Jenna tonight and it was great.
It was nice to not be working, moving or packing for once. For now though, I’m off to sleep. More photos to come. But please check out that multimedia. I give most credit to Emily for putting it together. I just shot photos and did some of the video.
