Description

I walk past this every day and think of the project I am working on. The significance of coal in our state’s economy and within the country’s energy use. I think of it every day, but most people walk past without ever giving it a second thought.

They don’t think about the tons of coal in piles like this one, ever. Not at the flip of a light switch or crank of an appliance. And I think about it every day when I walk past this holding tank for the black gold.

I have spent my entire life seeing this picture, but never stopped to take it, or even think about it, until this year.
