Memphis’ crime extends far beyond the gang bangers and thugs, because when those guys go home at night that’s what they are teaching to their kids.
This woman is not the mother of this child. Her own daughter is friends with her, and she looked outside to see her knocked out on the ground, her shirt splatted with her blood. The streets were littered with kids, some not wearing shoes, and some only five or six years old.
Poverty stricken children are hurtful to see no matter where they are, and I’ve been around my fair share back home. But you gotta feel sorry for kids growing up in neighborhoods like this.
