I get excited whenever I get the lame business assignments most people hate because it usually means I get to take my Alien Bee along.
I’ve noticed it’s too powerful sometimes, which means I just need to get a grid or snoot or something to cover it up and help weaken it. His shirt looks hot because this is the version I toned for the paper (you have to tone up those highlights!).
I liked this portrait though. This guy wanted the logo in the picture, and there was a computer screen in the background with it. But I shot it through this window instead, and liked it. It’s a strange portrait in a way, because it makes you think about what you’re looking at. But for a software designer, I thought this was pretty OK.
