I designed this for a particularly particular client. After multiple minute revisions she finally accepted it. :) It was important to us to have a hip save the date. We wanted to use this tree, and while I’m pretty sure a few of our more environmentally concerned friends were a little upset, the overwhelming majority loved it. This is a real tree in the Red River Gorge. Yes. I carved it, but I know from experience it’s alive, since I basically spent my entire adolescence carving up trees in my parent’s front yard.
I learned so much about design while working at the Kentucky Kernel, and I also learned a few more technical skills in a class I took my senior year. But most of my design knowledge came from working with great designers like Kelli Patrick and May May Barton. Those two taught me pretty much everything I know about design.
I would love to do some more design work, so if anyone is interested in getting save the dates designed, let me know. I would give a very, very fair rate. Design can cost a lot an hour, but I’d be willing to do a few of these for $30-$35 an hour (should only take a couple of hours!). I’ve charged $75 an hour for other clients, so that’s a deal. Caroline may disapprove, but I loved it! Nice work, Brad!
