I’ve been experimenting with toning lately. I consider myself a photojournalist, so it’s a bit uncomfortable for me to go very far from what’s real on toning. But like Emily Coovert said to me once, “Clients don’t care about what’s real or not. They just want pretty.” That stuck with me, but I have my own application of that. I work my tail off to make sure I get great photos on the first time around, so I don’t have to over-Photoshop it on the back end (Emily does, too. She’s a great photographer and she didn’t mean to put less effort in, but rather to make sure the end product is great). Please read the rest of my points–> Read more
