Description

Usually, when a flash doesn’t fire you get screwed. You miss the moment, you miss the prime position for your composition and you just flat out miss the picture. Unless you get lucky.

The exposure for the flash was the exact exposure for these lights. Some photographers are going to see this and say, “Well, why didn’t you shoot it like that anyways?” That’s the case when you’re shooting for a newspaper or magazine and need that one great frame, but at weddings you need the package deal, and with these lights, I was only catching this kind of light every five seconds or so. If you’ve ever seen a bouquet toss, they go fast, so you don’t have time to wait five seconds to catch this lighting. I’m glad I was able to make a cool picture, on top of getting all the other moments, too.
